Curiosas declaraciones de Yamauchi en 1979, año en el que Taito llevó a Nintendo (junto a otras compañías) a juicio por copiar Space Invaders.

"Concerning the Taito case, I think that, in the field of entertainment, it is not desirable go give editors exclusivity to the exploitation of new game concepts. What should prevent us from copying a game's concept if we want to? There's nothing we can do about it! And it is even a very good thing for the sector. It is indeed very beneficial to the actors of this industry to copy each other and glean inspiration from each other's games. This will enable us to develop the size and commercial growth of this sector together. Space Invaders probably suffered from this, but this contributes to the entirety of the computer creation sector. Rather than developing games in secret, away from the competition, I think it is very important to communicate with each other and to show other editors our steps in programming development."
