The first batch of information and screenshots for the upcoming Wii horror game Fatal Frame IV have appeared online under the name Fatal Frame: The Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
The title will be produced by Tecmo and Grasshopper, and published by Nintendo. Previous games in the series (under the name of Project Zero over here) have appeared on PS2 and Xbox.

In addition, Nintendo might possibly be involved on the production side too, if rumours are to be believed.

We'd imagine this is more a case of Nintendo funding the project and giving creative input occasionally, especially given that Nintendo friend Suda51 will be have directorial input on the game.

Yes, Tecmo's January pressconfernce had a lot of great goodies for Tecmo fans...and the FIRST SCREENS of the new Fatal Frame Game for the Wii console.
So let's break down the quick states of this game:

[*]Something concerning retrieving lost memories. [/*]

The press conference had Kikuchi-san there, the president of Tecmo, and Makoto Osamu Hatano Nintendo's Chief Exectuive officier. Kikuchi-san said he was very pleased with how the wii controls were relating with the game, and although he wouldn't go into specifics, he says he thinks fans will be pleased. (Poor Kikuchi-san, he's also working on the new Rygar for the Wii and Tecmo Bowl 2008. Three projects at once now!)

There was also a short promotion video shown at the demonstration involving two scenes, mainly of our main girl (possibly the heroine?) walking down the hallway of the house (and I believe also playing the piano). Her name has not been released yet, so her identity is unknown at the moment.)

The conference also announced that Nintendo will be heavily involved with the sales and the promotion of the game to all of its venues. This is good news for the game, since previous games have suffered from what many fans say has been inadequate promotion in the past.

Kikuchi-san once again thanked fans for their enthusiasm and to be patient. It seems though, given how game development is progressing, Tecmo is hoping for a summer release of the game this year.
